My 2002 chevy impala is smoking and the low coolant light is going on and off. The temp gauge is going up and down, what can be the cause of this?

The gauge is probably going up and down due to low coolant. Have the car checked for intake gasket or head gasket leakage or both.

It's about $1200 for the head gaskets, but if it is head gaskets they have to replace the intakes as well. Not that it's a big thing but a ittle one.
