Starter is out on my car. How much on average should it cost to have the starter replaced. Start -labor -etc. AAA recommeneded garge wants $1000. $300 for the starter and $600 labor. This seems very high. I know the starters only cost at the most $150.

Some vehicles are more work than others when it comes to starter replacement.
Book time on your starter is 4.3 hours of labor
