used a code reader and came back with a p1582 code

Is the engine cranking but just won't start and run? P1582 has to do with fuel pressure and emissions so could be bad fuel pump. So are you getting spark? Get back to me with some info and we will go from there

Yes, the engine is just cranking over but won't start. Today I cleaned out the throttle body and put it back together. When I tried to start again, it did start for a few seconds was idling really low and tough then just died again and now won't start again. I smell gas when I pump the pedal to try to keep my Rpms up. I'm lost I just don't know what else to try

Ok have you changed the spark plugs? I need to know if there spark to the spark plugs. For a car to start you need fuel and spark. If one is missing it wont start. So get back to me with that and we will see what to do next.
