No drive in transmission

I had reverse slam in my car, I replaced valve body and checked the torque on the input and output nuts now every gear works but drive in 3rd or drive it gets to 55 mph and rpm sitting about 3400 to 3500 and rpm wont decrease and go onto drive it will drive in drive but at high rpms and sometimes acts like it throws into neutral and then goes back to drive?

You probably blew a seal or clutch pak in it and it needs rebuilding

Just to add to this one what did you torque the input and output shaft too?Also was it a new or used valve body?Where did you get the valve body?Did you do atleast a high low and in each gear pressure test?Does the computer have any transmission codes?When the valve body was off did you air check the clutches?
