2001 Mercury Sable LS
3.0 six cyl
4-speed automatic transmission
Problem:
Driving along normal, normal speeds 55-60mph, good road conditions and once the car stated to shift from 3rd to 4th or overdrive, instead of shifting the car reved up and wouldn't shift and the car quit pulling. Got stopped and tried again to go but now the transmission won't pull at all. No prior signs of any slipping at all.
I checked the transmission fluid and it was a little bit low, added some fluid but no results
There's not a linkage problem. I can cycle through the gears and it feels normal when doing it.
