My lincoln ls has error code PO775 and an E where the gear is normally displayed, it may be shifting a little funny especially in first gear.

Diagnostic code P0775 is a transmission error code signifying a problem in the PC-B Solenoid circuit relating to transmission fluid pressures. You need to Connect a scan tool and run through the steps to see if the solenoid is responding properly, then check the voltage at transmission control connector terminal 3 and ground. If less than 10 volts, you have a broken wire between the connector and the fuse panel.

Where can I find a scan tool? Is it possible that it is just low or dirty fluid? Do you reccomend a traditional fluid change or power flush?

I recommend the system flush and a filter change every second flushing.

Parts chains such as Autozone and Pep Boys usually have tools for loan or rent.
