My car is in limp mode. It hits rev limiter at around 3500 rpm and acceleration is real sluggish. When it reaches operating temp the idle goes down to about 500 rpms and even stalls out sometimes. CEL is on and the only code reading is p1129 "map higher than expected". Changed map sensor and pcv valve. I also checked for vacuum leaks and anything out of the ordinary but I cant figure this out. It seems to me like there is some sort of vacuum leak but I have checked everywhere. When I clear the code it is fine until it reaches a cruise speed, operating temp, or couple of quick stop and goes.

Waa any repairs done prior to this occurring?

When the MIL is triggerred, the rev limiter would be activated. Getting the P1129 rectified should solve the problem.

Have your timing belt checked. You could have skipped timing.
