2001 Ford Taurus Broken gas pedal

My gas pedal broke; it is now just laying attaced and sitting on the floor. I tried lifting it back up and noticed it looked like it was missing a part that pushes into floor board. How can I fix this.

Open the hood and check the cable on the throttle body is it connected
and it should have tension on it
