2001 Ford Escort ZX2, how do you remove the alternator? have tried everything too many things in the way. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is the directions doesn't look too hard to change.

We are struggling trying to get the belt off, can not get to it. any suggestions please.

So you cant get to the belt tensioner?If so put a block of wood on your floor jack head and put it under your oil pan to support the engine then remove your upper mount and jack the engine up.
