I have a '01 ford crown vic p71 with 93K miles. About a week ago my car started spuddering and my check engine light came on. I checked it with a computer to see if anything would show up and a cylinder 5 misfire showed up on the computer. I changed all of the plugs and it's still spuddering. I haven't ran it through a computer again, could it be a bad coil and if so is it just #5 or is it all of them

Your engine uses "Coil On Plug" style ignition system. And Unfortunately, you specific model is prone to have coil failure.

But before you change that plug, first confirm the fuel injector for the num:5 cylinder is firing to eliminate that as a cause.

I'm pretty sure your issue is with the coil. So if the injector checks out, change the coil. It's very simple procedure.

I'm changing the COP tomorrow night I havent checked the fuel injector. When I took it to the auto store it read P0305 which is a cylinder 5 misfire and it was suggested I change the plugs. There was also no fluid in the cylinder so theres no leak. Theres a list of things to do starting with changing the plugs and the next step is changing the #5 COP but i'm going to swap #5 and #6 and see if doing that causes a #6 misfire then I would definitely know its a misfire. Everyone that has had this problem always finds their solution quickly so if it's not the COP it could be the fuel pump a leak in the intake manifold 02 sensors or a computer problem.
