Transmission went out and am now looking into buying a rebuilt

The transmission went out and am now looking into buying a rebuilt or lightly used one. However I am unable to determine the transmission model on existing one and need to know what transmission is in the truck so that I know what to buy for replacement. I have been looking on craigslist and found several different transmissions but all are from different year trucks such as a 1997 dodge truck with the 5.2 liter engine. I need to know what years of dodge trucks with the 5.2 have the same transmission if any that I can use to swap out old with. And if I will; have to make any changes to the new transmission before installation thank you

Hello,

For these 2-wheel drive 5.2L engines the 2000 and 2001 uses the same transmission.
The best course of action would be to call our local dealer and provide them with your VIN, they will be able to tell you the exact number for your transmission and the fitment years.
