I have a 2001 Chevy Silverado 1500. About every 3500 miles I lose about a quart and half of oil and dont know where it goes. It doesn't burn or leak, just dissappears. What could be happening?

Check compression. Use a leak detecting dye and black light to see if there is a small leak you aren't noticing. Pour the dye into the crankcase and run the engine for about 10 minutes. Shut it down and run the black light over the whole engine. Any leaks will shows as bright fluorescent colors. If nothing shows up, run it for another 20 minutes or so, driving, to bring the pressure up.

Also, check the coolant bottle for the presence of oil.
