Full tank of gas fuel light coming on barley starting

Last night I was coming home lost control and went into a ditch with snow and car seemded fine then drove to work this morning and car was fine for about 1 hour of driving and then I came to a stop sign and my fuel light came on so I pulled over and parked and tried to turn it back on the light was still on and it was very hard to start and my tank has 3/4 full tank of gas in it

Have you opened hood checked for damage like belt off

No I was almost late for work, where can I see this and would I be able to do this I have no idea about vehicle at all? The vehicle was driving fine for 1.5 hours could this belt come off while I am driving?

Siggest limp to a shop have checked on lift for under carriage damage
