Door is not locking

Why does passenger door on my vw passat not lock when I press central loocking button all other doors fine button door shudders but stops up can u hear passenger door central locking button judders and stops up other doors fine

Could be the door lock itself, have the convenience system control module scanned for codes and check some of the live data for central locking. You could also check the wiring harness to the door. Also check the footwell areas in the front for any water, the control unit is under the carpet and can get damaged if any water gets in, plenum chamber drains block up easily on passat.

The lock solenoid might be not receiving enough power. Does it unlock? The mechanism may be stuck. The bushings might be worn. You need to remove the door panel and take a look.
