With so many codes at the same time, the most likely cause would be a fault with the wiring. Check the wireharness connectors for the transmission. Ensure there are no contaminations etc and are clean and secure.

Some were suggesting a problem with the ECU and others were saying its either the valve board which is damaged. Can we rule out these factors

It can be those you have mentioned but I would suggest by starting with checking the wiring. Most common causes for such problems are contaminations to connectors causing bad connections between the solenoids and the ECU.

When codes occurs, they can cause the transmission to go into limp mode.

I have a similar problem with my Audi A4 1, 8T from 1998. I receive the following faults:
00266 - Solenoid Valve 5(N98)
00532 - Supply Voltage B+
00260 - Solenoid Valve 2 (N89)

Only the reverse gear will work, and not properly.

What can I do?

Have the codes cleared and test if problem persists, recheck the codes. Let me have the new readings and we shall see what needs to be done.
