ok so I am driving down the highway at 55 mph, when suddenly the car acts like its in neutral, the speedometer drops down to 0, the service light, service engine soon light, and the security light comes on, most of the other lights come on. the gear indicator says it is in 3rd gear. The car will slow down unless you keep it at around 4000 rpms.

I took it to a local mechanic shop, they hooked it to a computer, they said it need a new throttle body and a new ecu or bcu, so I paid to have them parts replaced and the car is still acting up.

You put you have a 2000 sl2 with a 3.0L engine.Which is not possible so do you have a 2000 LS2?Lets get that straight first also you had the throttle body replaced and the bcm you mean?If it is a LS2 they should have replaced the pig tail to the throttle body with the throttle body and should have installed a pig tail wire holder as well.If it had the codes set that require replacement. So what are the exact code numbers not code descriptions do you have?Thats the starting point and also finding out what model you actually have?
