Transmition problem

Auto Mantinic transmition goes to nutral after going 500 yards and have too reset battery for it too shift again

Sounds like a control solenoid or possibly a problem with the ECU.
Have a repair shop run a diagnostic code check and see what comes up. I am not surprised that a check engine light is coming up as the problem is intermitant.
Let me know what happens.
