2000 Maxda 626 ES V6: Mechanic checked ABS system and while sensor is functioning, the module is not. He called Mazda and was told that sensor was an obsolete item and no longer available. Car has 95,000 miles and has no other issues. Any ideas as to where a module could be obtained (tried several after-market internet searches without success) and if found what can I expect to pay for part plus labor? Thanks!

First, I find it hard to believe the part is obsolete. If I recall, the manufacturer has to supply such parts for at least 10 years. You are at that point, but I would recommend the dealer searches other dealerships inventory.

If you still can't get a new one, contact a salvage yard. As far as labor, it is around an hour.

Let me know if you have other questions.

Spoke directly with Mazda-part is obsolete. They have a 7 not 10 year time frame. Thus far unsuccessful with search except at Mazmart. Com where they quoted price of $5,374.74 (sic) My son suggested I buy a used 626 just for the part!
