THE STEERING WHEEL ON MY 2000 JEEP CHEROKEE ...

The steering wheel on my 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport just started squeaking when I turn it to the left. The sound seems to come from right under the steering wheel cover and is highly annoying. Power steering fluid is fine and I have no problem with the steering itself.

What could cause this, and what could be the fix? This vehicle is garage kept, most of the time is used just a couple of times a week as I work from home, and the weather has been cold lately.

Thanks in advance for your help!

It may be plastic cover hitting wheel you'lll just have to look for witness marks or take cover off an dsee if noise disapates.
