Shudder vibration

I have a shudder vibration when braking especially on a winding road. My vehicle is a 2000 GMC Sierra 4x4 Z71. Would that be a drive system or brake rotors or transmission problem.

Usually a shudder when applying the brakes is a rotor that is warped. They can be recut to take it away but repeated hard stops will do it again. Ususally a brake job is in order to repair this. It could be something else but would have to be looked at.
