What could be the problem when the motor oild is being used up fast

If it smokes on start up and then clears up bad valve stem seals if it has a blue haze out the exhaust all the time possible rings.

Check for any external leaks, drops of oil on ground after car has run and then parked If none I agree with Butch shull that there is possibly a valve stem seal or a oil ring is bad.
