Quick fix for upper motor lifter tap

Car has not been run for one year or more. It has new heads valve cover gaskets, etc, new timing belt. Yhe last time it ran thier was no noise at all. The motor runs fine except for the tap.

This may havestarted with not much oil on top of engine causeing cam/soller to wear. You'll need to have a pro check this. It may be a lifter as well, try some additive for noisy lifters to see if it helps. NOT a product like STP though, there is one thatstarts with a C I can't remember the name now. It's in a quart can

Sounds like you gotta lifter not pumping up. Remove the valve cover and push rod. You may have to remove the intake. Then you need to replace the lifter. Ty for using 2carpros
