I had a mechanic put a new engine in my car. Worked great afterwards for about 2000 miles. Now its acting up again. I brang it to another mechanic and he said it needed a new head gasket and a new coil because the mechanic who put my engine in broke my coil and put my head gasket on wrong. I paid the guy who put my engine in cash but it was a friend that did it so it was kind of a side job for him. At the same time Does that leave the mechanic liable for fixing my car for free becuase he didnt do it right the first time. Oh and I didnt get any paperwork saying that he did anything to my car.

Its been running for 2K's miles -now the coil is broken and headgasket wasn't installed correctly-How did the new mechanic knows that the gasket was not installed properly-did he remove the head to find out? Something is going on here

The head is leaking anti freeze all over the place. There was oil all on the top of the head and the spark plugs we covered in oil.
