My super charger seems not to be working according to the dash. Now there is a loud clanging noise that seems to be coming from the supercharger. Somone told me it is probably a bearing in the supercharger. My question is can i take off the belt for the supercharger? Will my car still function normally?

even with a bad bearing, it should produce pressure.

the vanes inside may have failed. if they are and you continue to drive you may damage the motor from debris in the motor
