1999 Mercury Mystique overheating

My car is running hot, took thermostat out wasn't it. Fill the thing up and blows back out of reserve....any ideas??¿

NEVER remove a thermostat as a cure for overheating. You lose all control of temp and cause numerous fuel mixture issues.
At this point you could have internal engine damage due to previous overheating.
