Hi I have my ranger it has the pvh hubs that lock with vacume and unlock auto well all the hoses are dry rotted and messed I need to replace them so they won't lock with the vacume so I took the hubs off locked them then put it back on so wen I turn there into 4x4 the front is locked an we I shut it off and put it back int 2 week drive the tires spin but it spins the cv joint and the drive shaft coming from the diff to tefront tires is I OK to leave the frnthubs locked and drive and never unlock them

It is putting a lot of wear on the front differential. I do not reccomend you leave them locked in.
