4x4 I have a 1999 f250 super duty power stroke 7.3 which on occasion loses torque, idles rough, and smokes a blue/grey color. No indicator lights come on and it seems if you cut it off and let it sit a while it fixes itself and runs fine. I feel I can repair this.

You have an injector failing from your description. Have a truck shop do a buzz test on all injectors to determine the failure.
Be aware, these are very expensive to replace.
