Swap motors in a 99 zx2 with a 98 Contour

I have a 99 ford escort zx2 5 speed and I want to replace the motor with my 98 ford contour automatic both are 4 cyl. Will it hook up ok the wiring and everything. Thanks

Nope. Can't legally do it. Most states require the engine to be the same year or newer and also available in the car (when new) it will go into. Smog equipment may also not be the same.
