Girlfriend had the car on a ferry and wouldn't start. My friend was wondering if it is timing belt. Kinda turns over. Battery fully charged. Is there a timing issue with these vehicles. Or distributor? Is there a way to get at timing belt or adjust without taking it all apart?

If the timing belt broke there is good chance you bent valves as well. But you have to take apart to replace belt, get a kit it will include all the things you need to replace it incuding tensioner. Then after you are done check compression for bent valve or just pull the head off to begin with.
