You can buy a remanufactured box for usually around a couple hundred dollars and about the same to install it.

Ok is it possible it could be the seal and would it be ok to just replace it. Are would it be better to just replace the whole thing

Replacing those seals is no easy thing. that one is a whole kit. I suggest changing the box.
