I rebuilt a518 transmission, goes into reverse and works, when put in drive it acts like it's low on transmission fluid, so I dissconnected one of the transmission cooler lines to empty pan, started the vechael up I got very little transmission fluid coming out with it in park when I put it in reverse the fluid started pumping out, when I put it in drive it stopped flowing out like as if it were in park, could there be a problem with my valve body? Or any suggestions?

Cooler lines come from the torque converter. Refill it to full then put in drive and reverse then rechecke to see if it 's full of oil if it is then it's either a internal leak, bad converter or a valve body problem or a filter not in far enough
