My 1999 chevy blazer is making a loud grating noise coming from the surpintine belt area. Does anyone know what that could be

It sounds like a bad bearing in one of the accessories. What you need to do is remove the serp belt and spin each accessory to check for the noise. Check for up and down play at each pulley. NOTE: Chances are it is a belt tensionier, idler pulley, or the water pump.
