Just remove it and remove any carbon. Don't force the pintel in or out. It can be damaged.

IAC is attached to lower section of throttle body.

To clean it, you can try suing carb cleaner without necessity of removing it.

Remove the air hose and use carb cleaner to spray into the ports at lower and side of throttle body interior.

Allow to soak for a few minutes and try restarting. It might take some cranking time as the carb cleaner would induce a temporary flooding.

Repeat if necessary. While you are ther, use a tooth-brush to scrub the interior of the throttle body and use carb cleaner to clear out any dirt.
