Yes I changed the ecu wiring loom and all asociated alarm components. Still had to pay someone to come and re-programme it. I have just changed the coil pack as 1 of the terminals was a bit perished and it seems a little better. Still not performing to its best. I have put a new standard exhaust from the cat back also. I am also a bit concerned about the engine vibration at 60 when in 5th and the car not wanting to go any quicker. DMF maybe? The clutch was replaced about 400 miles ago. And timing belt about 4000. Thanks for your reply

Hi there the engine code is agn. I am not sure if this is a problem already on the engine as the timing belt was done by the previous owner. The engine is from the mk4 golf gti 130 non turbo. I have no check engine light either all in all the car seems to be running smooth, the revs are not hunting up and down and it idles sweet. Just no power after about 3500 revs. Just induction noise. Sorry about my description. Thanks again

The other problem I have is that I paid to have the key koded back to the car as it lost its memory everything was fine untill yesterday. Now my key fob wont operate the alarm/ central locking. I can only open the car manually and when I do the alarm sounds for 30 seconds. But I can still start and drive the car. The central locking will only work via the switch on the inside of the drivers door.

I would suggest starting with checking the fuel pressure and delivery.

I could not find any reference to the engine you are refering to. What year model is the engine from?

As to the fob not working, either it has lost its programming or the fob is faulty. You should refer to the person who performed the recoding for you.
