1998 Mazda Familia - BJ5W-110662, 1500cc

I have an issue with a ticking noise from the VVT Actuator. I have been told it is most likely that the VVT is loose but can not find any repair manuals to explain the VVT system and how to tighten it back up. Do you have these or can you explain it?

Regards
Carl

Are you sure it is the VVT? I could not find any reference to this engine being equipped with VVT.

Have you checked/adjusted the valve clearances?

Yeah 99% sure it is the VVT. The engine in this model is the ZL-DE.
Have checked valves etc, and ran a flush when I did my oil change too.

Sorry I am not able to assist you on this. Our database does not have any information on your engine.

Hope someone else can help.

Have a nice day.
