The heat is blowing but the air is cool. I took it to a repairman & he took out the entire panel & said the whole thing needs to be replaced. He removed it & now there's just a big hole where the radio used to be. I can find the names of individual parts as far as the heater core, etc. But I don't see where you can purchase the entire unit that has the radio, heat & air. For some reason he can't even tell me the name of the part, he just keeps saying that entire unit needs replaced. Can you give me any information on what he might be referring to?

It sounds like he is referring to the heater box assembly, but there is something wrong with this picture. Was this a shop?

No, this is an individual. I've already put over $500 into it by replacing the water pump, thermostat & fixing leaks for the coolant.

I don't know why you would need a whole new heater box, unless it is actually broken. The blend door and the actuator are replaceable.I think that I would have to demand a refund or that he fixes the car. You've got a mess there. This sort of thing is impossible to diag over the net. It could have been a clogged heater core, blend door, actuator or the controls.
