Ford Ka burning rubber

Hey I have a ford ka which seems to be loosing power when going up hill and notice a burning rubber smell and also when I arrived at destination after a few small journeys had smoke coming from the drivers side at the back by the looks of it

If the smoke is coming from under the vehicle, check the catalytic converter to make sure it isn't plugging. Also, check for the location of the smoke to identify if anything is laying on the exhaust and burning.
