Will a faulty ecm ecu module cause the elect. System to go crazy. Have a 98 crown vic. That pegged the alt. Gauge one night. Then the next morning I started the car and the wipers and washers came on by themselves.

Have the charging system checked to rule the alternator

Check under the left and right front bumper, look at where the wire harness runs in front of car, I know they had alot of probs with wire harness rubbing thru and water staying in the harness.
