98' Chevrolet Cavalier 2.2 L FI Base, 3-sp Auto, 168,000
This vehicle was purchased used with
135,000 miles (10,000 per year). At that time, the ABS braking
system operated satisfactorily as indicated by an initial
road test.
At approximately 160,000, the ABS dashlite
began to come on and go off indiscriminately at
different road speeds, however, it seems to
come on at about 70mph with much greater
frequency. It will stay on for various lengths
of time, then will go out again at its pleasure, whether braking or not.
The car still brakes well under normal road
conditions. While it brakes in a strait line, it is not possible to
intentionally lock up the brakes on a dry, smooth
pavement. Front/Rear brakes are witin serviceble limits with no noticeble
service brake pulsation from the front wheel rotors.
Today, an Actron Plus was connected. ABS light was not on.
Scan results showed no stored codes.
Thank You, Randy A.
