1997 Volkswagen Cabriolet Gas fumes

When driving I can smell gas and when standing by the car. I don't see any gas on the ground or anything. Just smell gas all the time.

You can have a gas leak and it wont leak oon the ground if its on something hot. It can catch on fire however so id suggest taking it to a good shop ASAP. Look for one through the BBB
