I have a 1997 Saturn SL 1 and my oil light has been flashing for a few weeks now. My service engine soon light just came on. What could be the problem?

Have you checked the oil level?

The first thing I would check is your oil level and then you need to have your code's read to see which one's you find I need the code number's. Let me know what you find.

First check the oil level, if OK then have codes read at most autoparts stores for free. This could be a maint. Light indicating an oil change is needed.

If an oil pressure issue and you do not have any ticking, clicking knocking, it is most likely a oil pressure sender.

But oil pressure is nothing to fool with, have it checked ASAP.
