My car cranks but only turns over after many.

My car cranks but only turns over after many tries Some times it takes 3 times and sometimes it takes 10 tries could it be the timing belt?

I would start witrh monitoring fuel pressure as a start. See what it is when it wont start.

As far as the belt, you gave us no engine size but I doubt it if it runs.
