Why do I still have a ticking or clicking sound?

I replaced my lifters all 12 of them putt everything back together but then when I started it it continued to make the noise. However the noise is still on the passenger side of the 4.3l I have in it just like before I replaced the lifter and everything is tight that I made sure of. So what else could it be

ARE YOU CLEAR ON THE IMPORTANCE OF PUSH ROD LENGTH AND THE HOW DEPTH INSIDE THE TAPPET (LIFTER) IS SORTA "CENTERED" IN THE SPRINGY PART--NOT TOO HIGH--NOT TOO LOW
