Possible Fuel Pump problems?

I ran out of gas down the street. After putting more in my car won't turn over. It sounds like it's trying to but it doesn't.

Is the Check Engine Light indicating?
Did you ever had problem with difficulty starting after refueling?
Have you confirmed the engine stalled due to lack of fuel?
How much fuel did you top up? If vehicle is not on level ground, try getting it to level ground and retest.
