What can cause your power steering to go out

No power steering fluid, broken pump, or broken lines. Start by checking your power steering fluid. If it is full then check your lines for leaks, of coarse if it is full then you probably don't have a leaking line. If this is the case, then that only leaves your power steering pump which could be faulty.
