Was installing an aftermarket head unit last night. During the process, came to the part where you connect the red to red, green to green etc. Had all of the correct colors matched and turned the vehicle on to give it a test, no power was coming to the head unit. Then my buddy said I should try to connect the 12v yellow to the red ignition and when I connected the 12v constant to the ignition wire and gave it a test, and it worked. I can't save my radio presets because the 12v constant is not live, or seems dead. How can I fix the 12v constant? Is it a fuse? If so which box would it be located in?

Normally you can buy and adapter that plugs in and corrects this stuff instead of clipping wires. See pic and some of these wires go to your steering wheel if yo have the controls there. The yellow wire is for power with key on and acc. The orange wire is constant power. There is no red wire although you may be mistakenly thinking orange is red. See diagram.
