1997 Chevy Blazer all of a sudden the oil gauge is at 60, why would that happen?

Your oil pump may have a pressure relief valve, that isn't operating like it should? You can use an analog gage to double check you dash gage. I'd double check the gage first.

Also ensure oil is correct weight and at proper level
