I can not get the nut to loosen. I hear that it is reverse threads, but online videos show it being loosened the normal way. counter clockwise.

The idler pulley bolt loosens counter clockwise I know that for a fact . Sometimes those bolts are really tight and the nipple the idler pulley bearing slides onto breaks off.If that happens you will have to replace the front cover.
