This past week my dad and I did an engine swap, we put an 3.8 from a 1998 olds 88 into a 1996 olds 88, the swap went well after we found all the trany bolts. But when I got the car home I locked the doors with the power locks and when I went to unlock the doors with the key the panic alarm went off and it wont shut off everytime I open the door it goes off again. I unhooked the battery and hooked it back up and havent locked the doors since because I'm worried about the panic going off again. We dont have a remote on our key chain and never had one since we bought the car for a panic button so we didnt even know that it had a panic alarm on it until this happened. So my question is do I have to do something that makes the car reconize the new engine we put in or is there away to disconnect the panic or anything I can do to stop this from happening I dont want to have to leave my car unlocked all the time, lol. Thank you so much for your help

As long as you used the wiring harness from the 96 as the newer motor harness may have changed something. If not try resetting your security system. Turn the key on for up to 10 minutes or until the security light goes out. Turn the key off and then start the car.
