Hi there, I have just brought a mazda capela 1996 diesel off a person who said they couldnt be botherd fixing it and that it needed a water pump, I brawt a new water pump and got it put in by a profeshional. But the car still isnt going, it makes a cranking noise when I turn the key but just wont kick in, a machanic has done the timing belts and oil checks and stuff but cant find anythng?

Do you have fuel at the injectors, crack open a injector pipe and crank you should get fuel pumping out, do not take all the way off, just loosen a turn or so, high pressure diesel is dangerous, just watch while someone cranks the engine, you should see fuel coming out.
